82.5"x82.5", ~67ft2, Dec. 2022, Acrylic on Cardboard Collage, Stamps School of Art & Design, Ann Arbor, MI This painting was created to process feelings about nuclear war at a time of increasing geopolitical tension. The painting takes the shape of a head in profile. Where the brain would be is a writhing mass of fish monsters, eating, being eaten, and vice versa. Like international conflict, the only purpose is to destroy ourselves and to cause suffering to the other group indiscriminately.
